Hah, that's greatWrathbone wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 4:04 pmHush was fantastic, and the story behind it is great too. Apparently Joss Whedon read somewhere that Buffy was only successful because of the dialogue, and so he decided to disprove that by creating an episode with almost no dialogue. Suffice it to say, it worked!

In fairness, the dialogue is one of Buffy's strengths, but I think Hush proved that it had an incredibly good cast too.

Only 4 episodes in but is shaping up nicely. Just need the little one to sleep and we might finish watching it this year

I binge watched the season in one day during my Christmas break. Good pacing and interesting writing, you never know quite how far he's going to go next.
Had some fun reading the Reddit page for it too where quite a few people were defending his actions and blaming everything on the female lead.

Back to Buffy and Angel quickly.
I'm making my son watch it with me and we're following a guide online as to the best order to watch both. Sometimes they're alternate but sometimes we have to watch several back to back.
Still impressed with it and surprised how much I've forgotten.

The Bodyguard
Meh. Great beginning, terrible ending as it got lost in its own complexity and tried to be something smart like a detective story. They should have kept it as a straight forward narrative of a troubled and complex bodyguard conflicted between his emotions and his desire for revenge or something like that - that was intriging. Episodes 1-3 implied one thing, than something big happens it than began to become something else but not as good. Its like the BBC lost faith and decided to sell the show to Americans this is what they want. When it turned into a conspiracy detective story from episodes 4 to 6 I began to lose interest. By episode 6 I just wanted it to end. I did actually stop the show 20 min from the end by the Ms wanted to see it - so endure I must.
Stupid twists, an incoherent mess. I have no idea what the fuss was all about.
5/10

Is that what the kids are calling it nowadays? "Swatting the fly in my lap". Yeah, I'm sure.

I love The Good Place. I'm not really a fan of comedy shows, and the first episode was a bit weird I thought, but since then it's been fantastic. I just hate having to wait for episodes rather than binging it.
