Re: E3 2019 - Press Conferences and News
There have been some neat looking games shown and whilst it isn't as polished I think it remains a good place to show stuff that wouldn't make it on to Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo's show.
Re: E3 2019 - Press Conferences and News
Ok, perhaps "embarrassment" is being a bit harsh, but it just feels so awkward and unpolished and arguably disappointing compared to the other conferences. It's perhaps to be expected given that PC Gaming doesn't really have a big company to support it; hell, the fact that it was sponsored by one of the companies trying to carve out their own segment of the content in competition with the established leader is explanation enough for why it's a bit all over the place.

Ubisoft now.....here we go again
The venue is downtown LA. 2 years ago, after the event, I went for a walk around the theatre - I have never been so scared in all my life during daylight hours. Downtown LA is fucking zombie land. I have never seen so many crazies in such a short space of time. My Uber could not come fast enough

I'm not convinced they've actually hired any English actors for the incidental voices.

Every time a game has had a simulation of an entire city, with every human supposedly unique, they all turn out to be so impossibly bland and generic that you have to wonder why they chose to do it other than marketing. Every character is voiced? Sure, but they'll have maybe 20 voice actors that you'll be able to quite easily tell apart. It's just not possible to make enough content for this to be worthwhile.

It's funny, I tend to associate Ubisoft with quirky games like Rayman and the like, but they really are massively into their shooters aren't they. I clearly just haven't played anything they've done in recent years.Achtung Englander wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2019 8:30 pmUbisoft are really into their shooty shooty games aren't they
Now they have a dog on stage. He's surprisingly calm given the number of excited people clapping for him.

oh my god, after a while all these games are getting to look the same in one big shooty shooty angry, highly skilled martial arts hero game.
I beginning to have difficulty telling them apart

It's so mundane how these shows are increasingly boiling down to who can get the biggest 'in' celebrity of the time on stage. I couldn't give the slightest crap about what celebrity they mo-cap for any role in a game, it's just spectacle over offering anything actually new or interesting.

Did I just hear that they're bringing AI controlled teammates into the new GR game as a post-launch content plan? It won't even launch as a viable solo experience?
