I like the new opeth..

I didn't notice Devin did a Rammstein remix back in the day. This is bonkers.

I've not really listened to music for many weeks, but this week I've tried out this thing:

Bong - Out of the Aeons

...which is really cool, and my kind of thing these days.
Between tedium and fright
Such is the song of the nether world
The hissing of rats
And the jarring chants of angels

That is so Devin it is just not true, that is his sense of humour to a tee. It appeared on the second bonus CD that came with Made in Germany, along with a load of other remixes. They are also worth looking up.

In other news, new Opeth not immediately doing it for me :/

Spec Ops: The Line fans will know it already; I'm intentionally running a playlist of tunes that I associate with hot weather and summer suffering, since I don't need to be up for work tomorrow and I'm hoping some kind of revelation comes through torment.

Also, I genuinely like The Black Angels too.

Isegrimm: Ik Gihorta Dat Seggen

This is a really great album, if you like atmospheric, medieval-esque ambience.

I really love this song: it's a rendition of The Song of Durin from The Lord of the Rings

Between tedium and fright
Such is the song of the nether world
The hissing of rats
And the jarring chants of angels

I'm pretty late to the party with this band. But I've been delving into their whole catalogue lately after some of their tracks just seemed to click with me and now I can't stop listening to them.

Funnily enough I actually saw them support Devin at Hammersmith a couple of years ago and they totally passed me by at the time.

This is my new "what I listen to when I'm painting" music:

I stumbled across this a while ago. It's a six stage project about dementia with each stage representing the development of the condition. Lots of chilled out samples of old style music mixed in with general ambience. Very haunting but oddly relaxing, it's been the soundtrack to my quiet evenings a fair few times.

This is the first stage:

The whole project runs to six and a half hours of music and can be purchased on Bandcamp.

Somehow I missed Hevvy Devvy had an Unplugged album in 2011 and its quite fantastic! Just him, guitar and a some reverb. Dark room, headphones, relax.
