Borderlands 3
Re: Borderlands 3
Yeah I have now got an Epic account and feel
dirty. I have not bought it through them though (CD Keys was cheaper), so the only personal info they have of mine is my email address.

Having a whole lot of fun though.
Any surprises? Not really. Claptrap arrives within seconds of the game starting but is mercifully brief. Speaking of brief, one of your first missions sees you rescuing a bandit leader clad in a tatty cape and Y-fronts who has some funny dialogue.
So far so Borderlands, shooting skags, clearing bases. Gunplay is solid, lots of weapons to be had, everything is slick as you would expect. Only gripe is that the splash screens won't scale to 21:9 properly but am sure that will soon be patched.

I think if there weren't so many other games out right now I would have picked this up.

Re: Borderlands 3
Thanks for the session earlier Ian, really enjoyed it.
Loving the new mobility you have in this game makes the game feel faster. I also like what they have done with the weapon skins, much more variety and better looking guns. Have you noticed any stuttering when you zoom in Ian? Apparently it is a common issue people are having and it makes sniping a bit awkward.

Re: Borderlands 3
No problem mate, ping me anytime you fancy some more.
I have had zero issues, which I am glad about. I tend to play a 'pick 'em off from afar' type game when I can too, so would have noticed any zooming stutter. Runs smooth as buttered silk for me.
The new movement does make things more slick, sliding into cover and slamming off ledges never gets old. I have found a weapon I absolutely fucking love too, it is a shotgun that fires explosives, but has two fire modes: One where the rounds explode on contact, one where they turn into sticky-bombs. The latter is the weapon of choice now. Rather than wearing down shields and health bars, I plug a few sticky-bombs onto each opponent and vapourise them when they all detonate at once. It makes the fights a little more frenetic as you only drop enemies when the bombs all explode (I think reloading triggers it, as well as a lengthier default timer) but gibbing my way through the game is just epic.
Be sure to check on here often to get codes for golden keys too.

Lots of 'fun' and 'quirky' writing in there that's sure to please Sly.

I think it's that particular writer - his style is atrocious. He's like a caricature of what the original RPS writers were like.
The review does get better towards the back third. It really does sound like much more of the same sadly.

Re: Borderlands 3
I heard somewhere or other that the DRM software for the game was found to contain a key logger. Anyone know if that's a thing?
Re: Borderlands 3
Couple of YouTube videos saying it, no idea if it's true. Apparently it has come from hackers trying to crack the game, so until I hear it from a more reputable source than the YouTube tinfoil hat brigade I will call BS on that one I think.
That fucking RPS review, why on earth do they employ that cretin, is it just to enrage me?
