Re: The Room 101 thread - for things you hate or just having a bloody good moan
It was probably in my mid-30s when I started to really notice parts of my body were beginning to complain when getting up. It's only now it's getting creaky all over, even bordering on painful in some areas. I might have to look into some additional daily stretching routines or something. See if that helps.
Back in my 20s the only stiffness I felt first thing in the morning was of the fun kind.

Yoga is the answer for you there.
Simple stretches for a couple of minutes will help with all that stuff.
Also, fireworks can fuck off when your trying to get a little one to sleep.

The way that many men seem to look as if they've ALWAYS just walked out of the barber shop.
How do they pull this off? They must literally go to the barber each day.

TNT delivered an item for me today, presumably to a neighbour. I had no notification (other than the fact that I'd checked the tracking page). There is no ticket telling me which house it's at. I had to dig through their tracking site to find who had signed for it, and it's a name I don't recognise (not that this would matter, I don't know any of my neighbours), with no number attached.
I now have to walk around the area in pouring rain knocking on every door because the courier couldn't spend 30 seconds to put a sodding ticket through.

Google's daily themed logo, celebrating the 163rd birthday of some random person who invented some random thing.

The Google Doodle on the 6 June 2014 was of some random Japanese wanker who played Go 200 years ago. Not the 70th anniversary of something a bit more significant. I do remember a bit of controversy about that.Stormbringer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 11:33 pmGoogle's daily themed logo, celebrating the 163rd birthday of some random person who invented some random thing.

How I can't stop laughing at that picture of the "Italian immigrant" in the other thread, and I'm trying to eat my lunch in the office.

Words you've only ever seen written and never heard spoken (often technical terms or acronyms), which you then hear someone pronounce in a totally different way to what you've mentally established.
I'm watching a Pluralsight course on SSRS, and the presenter pronounced "tablix", which I think is the first time I've heard it said out loud. For over a decade I've thought of it as "tab-lix", but the presenter said "tay-blix", and I had an involuntary reaction of horror and revulsion. What fresh hell is a tay-blix?!
EDIT - I guess there's an argument that tablix is an amalgamation of table and matrix, which is why the "tay" from table could carry over. But I reject this completely on the grounds that I hate it and anyone who says tay-blix is weird and wrong. Probably the same people who don't know how to pronounce gif.

I definitely know the right way, but for those people that don't you should probably say what it is ¬_¬
