Black Friday / Cyber Monday

Post by Achtung Englander » Sun Nov 24, 2019 2:07 pm

So anyone get anything ?

All the items in my Amazon basket are not on sale :( and the 65'' QLED TV I want to get is still north of £800 :(

Never mind !

Its nice to know I am wasting my money on shit I don't need and just keep on waiting....

I'm done with gadgets and big purchases for the foreseeable future I think. Nothing interests me whatsoever when it comes to new TVs or PC gear. Sure I could get a 27" 1440p IPS G-Sync screen and new PC components, but I haven't played some games that I've owned for five years yet and my PC is more than capable of running them at the moment. There comes a point in the never ending stream of consumerism that you just need to sit back and stop spending I think.

I did pick up a year of PS Plus for 30 quid though as that's the lowest I've seen it drop for a long time and my subscription lapsed quite a while ago.

I've got a Razer Mamba for £60 (usually £80ish), which is my first wireless mouse. It's a really nice mouse, very comfortable, perfect weight, highly responsive, great button placement (unlike the Logitech G402 I came from where I'd regularly accidentally press the wrong thumb buttons and change the cursor speed). Very happy with it.

I'm also on the lookout for decent deals on a 1TB M.2 SSD over the next week.

I got my 43 incher 4K monster at start of sales last week. Was 470 euros, not sure what that is in your "not in the cool gang anymore" money ¬_¬

I'm waiting to see if any XBox One consoles come down to a price that's worth picking up entirely for use with Gamepass (I think £150 or below will be my insta-buy price, though I think I'd settle for below £200 if it comes with a copy of Jedi Fallen Order, about the only game I want that isn't on Gamepass).

i did pick up an AOC Q3279VWFD8 monitor last week when it dropped by £50. Its resolution is 2560x1440 and the upgrade from HD is amazing. I have a dual monitor set up and my second monitor is HD. The difference between the two is palatable. I can see why people prefer 4K.

eBuyer did a flash sale of some at just under £90 last week; not sure if that's the best deal you'll get but it certainly seemed fairly decent to me. Alas, I missed out on it, but if it comes up again next week I'll probably buy one.

Lidl are going to have the all digital one for £120 (if I remember right) but that will be murder to get in store. With 4 games (all game pass games I think)

Yeah, I've seen that, but I can't imagine they're going to get many per store at that price (that's surely the kind of offer they use just to get people through the door). I'd have to go an hour out of my way just to check, so I'm not likely to get one.

It comes with Minecraft, Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 3. All codes in a box as far as I can tell.

Would be pretty funny if they were discs ;)

Scan have got one down to £90 today:

Tempting, but I think I'm going to hold out a bit longer.

It was the Mincraft/SoT/Forza 3 package we got with out Xbox One S deal from BT with the new broadband package this summer.

The kids love Minecraft, I played a few minutes of Forza 3 before it drove me up the wall and I'm pretty sure I binned the SoT code

Having a browse through upcoming lightning deals on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07B8NXCV3/ ... EGDK2XRVKK

I'm not sure I want self-adhesive toilet paper.
