Re: The Covid-19 thread
Arsenal's match against Man City tonight has been postponed. On Feb 27th some of their players met the Olympiakos owner, who yesterday confirmed he has the virus. Since meeting him Arsenal have played two matches, against Portsmouth and West Ham.
Meanwhile, the virus is exploding in Madrid, and thousands of people will be travelling from there today headed for Liverpool, for our game against Atletico Madrid, and apparently the UK government has no plans in place for screening them as they enter the country.
Everything is fine.

We are at the cusp. The next 10 days is crucial, cases are increasing. I expect schools to close 1 week early for EasterSly Boots wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 7:33 amArsenal's match against Man City tonight has been postponed. Re: The Covid-19 thread
the huge problem is that you can close schools etc etc for 2 weeks, a month at most....what comes after that. The vaccine is not expected until 2021 at the earliest.
You cannot cancel events indefinitely.
This is why the Govts know for a fact 80% of the world population will catch it at some point. We are all going to get it. If the mortality rate is 1% - 3% we can expected tens of millions of deaths.
I know this sounds like a downer but this could change the entire world economy and social interaction for next couple of years
I was saying to the gf last night - is this shit happens again from China - I genuinely think all the countries should sue the fuck out of that country. It is the only way they will change their habits.

Re: The Covid-19 thread
This was always going to become a global pandemic when most of the major countries refused to take rapid action for fear of the short term damage to their economies. Doomed if you do, doomed if you don't. Now we're facing significantly more deaths but for the sake of not suffering an economic downturn in January and February.

Don't forget WHO which was sucking on China's dick till now as well. Whole lot is to blame for not doing zilch.
