The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
How are we for this Thursday?
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Yep, should be okay.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Should be fine for me.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes

I don't know whether Sly or Raid subscribe to DnD Beyond (not much point really unless you're a DM I guess), but the subscriber's just got access to the Beta build for their new built in dicer roller. All your character sheet modifiers become interactive buttons and clicking them plays a nice little animation of the relevant dice rolling across the screen before a total appears in the corner. It's really neat and I think I'll be using it in future as it factors in all your modifiers for you and totally removes the need for any math at all.
I subscribe because I DM the odd one shot every now and then. It's good that they're introducing more new features to the site. If only character sheets on the iPad and phone apps were on the agenda any time soon!

It's a nice idea, but I genuinely prefer the feel of rolling a real die. I do use the one on Roll20 when I'd have to be rolling for something like Blight (eight d8s) and we'd be there all night waiting for a result otherwise.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
Yeah, I love real dice but it is a very nice digital alternative. I don't think it supports certain things like re-rolling of specific dice in some circumstances, but it looks great and I imagine it will be very useful for newcomers.

On reflection, given that you all defeated eviler versions of yourselves with room to spare, that deserves a level up.

Huzzah!
I'd love to know whether you'd planned for (who I'm going to insist is canonically called) The Indescribables to be a short, fun diversion, only for us to then turn it into a bloody, violent clusterfuck that lasted half the session, nearly killed Truss and ended up dangerously weaponising two of us

Awesome. I think that means sixth level spells for me.
I'm really curious why these guys were out to discredit us now. Someone's got it in for us!
I love how we saw them in town and promptly thought that it wasn't anything to be concerned about and moved on to not cause a fuss. Even when we're trying to avoid causing trouble it seems that entire villages get burnt down.

Reliable Talent
11th level
By 11th level, you have refined your chosen skills until they approach perfection. Whenever you make an ability check that lets you add your proficiency bonus, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.

So, basically, I can't critically fail skills I have proficiency in and roll a minimum of 11 on checks (I'm assuming that doesn't apply to combat though)?

I will say that the town didn’t have to burn down, but walking away from a screaming populace on the horizon kind of feels like an Unmentionables trademark.
Re: The return of the D&D campaign: This time it's potatoes
It's good timing to level up for me too as each level up lets me swap a spell out, and I have been very disappointed with Summon Lesser Demons after holding onto it for so long and not making use of it.
I finally get a third spell slot too.
