But will he re-emerge?

I randomly rolled for the race of my character and was also made a Dwarf. We shall have three Dwarfs in the party, it seems!

I only got 50 Gold, which I have already spent on a melee weapon. I may use the 77 Gold I inherited from Gibnar to buy a missile weapon, and I will use whatever gold The Baron hands out to get some armour.

I will upload my profile tomorrow.

I feel like I should change my character's name to Snow White -_-

Yeah, hopefully Tichinde will confirm whether he really is up for it. I'm not sure about his work/life commitments.

Ideally he could be around enough to pop in for periods, have access to the Dice generator website, etc. It's easy for me right now, I'm working from home at the moment so I can just have a tab open all the time.

Anyway, been reading up on some rules. We're going to start have surprise rolls when monsters are discovered. Occasionally, the monsters will get to attack first. ¬_¬

That would be better. I wouldn't even really need to change my portrait

Yeah I avoided the surprise rolls as I thought it would be too messy debating on the position of monsters with Mantis.

Also, I avoided the GM token system and just used the Solo rules for the GM phase in Exploration Mode. Normally, the GM rolls a d12 after the Hero Phase and on a roll of 1 or 12 he draws a token. In Solo mode, a roll of 1 brings up a trap and roll of 12 brings up wandering monsters.

I also, by the way, used the Orcs Matrix from the Terror in the Dark expansion as the basis for this quest.

Gandalf the Purple with Yellow Stars & Moons, instead of Gandalf the Grey? ¬_¬

Cheers for the tips. I'll look into the dungeon counter stuff.

I'm thinking I'll place the monsters first, just milling around away from the door, then whoever wins the surprise roll simply attacks first. I'm going to make it so the players have a +1 advantage each time, even if they don't have an elf in the squad (which would give an additional +1).

Plus, I should probably declare whether I'm going to move/attack with all monsters or attack/move with all of them. Which I think is meant to avoid the situation where the DM gets too many hits on players by rotating monsters that are already in death zones.

Lore of Death, eh?

Maturin will need White Dwarf 125 to cover the rules for the Amethyst Wizard.

Thurk Blightbinder is wearing the right coloured clothes for the Lore of Death. Paulox you should consider changing your purple robes to red or orange, as is fitting for a Wizard using Bright magic.

Here's my character:

That's me spent my 50 gold, plus 50 more of the 77 I took from Gibnar. If Maturin gives me any more I will buy some armour with it.

Yes, Lore of Death! Which is far less Deathy than I had thought it might be :)

Was going to spend my gold willy-nilly on rope, spikes and daggers, but I realise I need spell reagents.
Which means I want...

1 extra Amethyst Dust (Burn all the things)
1 extra Corundum Globe (Heal all the things I may 'accidentally' burn)
and the 10 iron spikes (which I assume are for closing doors behind us)
Spending all of my 60 gold (I'm assuming all spell reagents are 25 gold as per page 4 of the thread?)

Spells:
Spoiler
FIRE OF JUDGEMENT
Component: Amethyst Dust
The Wizard concentrates, agitating the air with the power of mind over matter, until it bursts into brilliant flame! Place a fireball template anywhere within 12 squares of the caster within his line of sight. Any models, friendly or enemy, which fall under the fireball template are hit, suffering 5 damage dice of injury.

FORTITUDE
Component: Corundum Globe
Using the power of mind over body, the Wizard heals the wounds of himself or any one recipient, restoring all Wounds to maximum. The recipient must be the only model in the Wizard's Death Zone at the time of casting.

SOUL STEEL
Component: Suspension of Amaranth
With this spell, the Wizard or a recipient within 6 spaces is revitalized with the resilience of the Amaranth, adding +1 to Toughness until the next exploration turn.

ALTER ALLEGIANCE
Component: Sheet of Expensive Parchment
The Wizard tears the parchment in two. Combat seems to cease for a moment, then resumes as if nothing has happened. The Wizard may choose 1d12 enemy models within 6 squares. Each must make an Intelligence test. If the test is failed, the model changes sides; it is now controlled by the Wizard. This lasts until the end of the next exploration turn, then the model runs away.

No, iron spikes are not for closing doors. Iron spikes are for combining with a rope to make a rope-ladder, proper D&D style.

Don't forget you inherit 77 extra gold from Terence.

Just need to iron out a few more details guys, I'll probably get another thread going for the 2nd quest on Saturday.

This quest is going to be bigger than the first, and take a bit longer, but I'm not going to make it impossibly hard. It seems we're going to have 2 wizards going in, which could be interesting. You'll probably need at least 1 henchman just to offer that little bit of extra hand-to-hand protection.

I could maybe re-roll a new melee char? I feel like I've seen the wizard class now so I don't mind letting Paulox ride off into the sunset with Terence.

Oh, also, I'm not really going to be around on Saturday as we're going to my dad's for the day. I'll be on later in the evening though probably.
