Seems that along with oodles of free games and stuff coming of Twitch recently we're also getting the extra big cuddle of ads thrown in to the mix too...
As we have continued to add value to Twitch Prime, we have also re-evaluated some of the existing Twitch Prime benefits. As a result, universal ad-free viewing will no longer be part of Twitch Prime for new members, starting on September 14.
Twitch Prime members with monthly subscriptions will continue to get ad-free viewing until October 15. If you already have an annual subscription, or if you upgrade to an annual subscription before September 14, you will continue with ad-free viewing until your next renewal date.
Seems £7.99 a month just isn't enough to keep the ads at bay these days. They're looking for another £7ish a month to do that with Twitch Turbo.
This is pretty crappy from my point of view. Their reasoning for doing this doesn't gel with their previous line that content creators get paid for ad impressions even from Twitch Prime subs. So either they lied back then or they are lying now when they say they are doing this for content creators. Personally I would rather have ad-free viewing over in-game items and games.
I’m fine with the games myself because I’ve watched about 10mins of twitch and it was horrendous. You lot can watch the ads and I’ll have the games thank you very much
A man who could tell more truth and eat fewer pies.
I would agree but with it being prime the other prime services are a cutdown version of the paid service. Prime music vs Music Unlimited and Kindle whatever vs Kindle Unlimited. We already get far more than I’d ever expect for our £8 a month.
Oh and DJ, I’ve only ever watched Dota within Dota. Is there any advantage to doing it externally? Other than doing it on tablet etc.. I suppose.

They've also pulled the 20% discount on pre-ordering games from them. Think it was just physical copies but I didn't even know they offered that for Prime users.
The twitch thing is just really stupid and a lot of streamers and watchers are pissed about it. Probably not enough or big enough names to get them to change their minds though.
I realised after watching most of the first series that I simply don't find the old Top Gear humour funny any more. They're just acting like idiots and being offensive for the sake of it, because they can get away with it online.
Dont know how much use this is to anyone but if you watch an episode of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan on Prime Video by September 5th you'll get 400 bits. Whatever that is?!
I think you use it to tip strippers... erm I mean streamers.
