Snowpiercer S4
Thats us wrapped that up and I won't tell you its masterful scifi but I did really enjoy it. Sean Bean chews some camp scenery and is a joy. Theres a lot of questionable plot elements and a varied level of lethality to the cold dependant on plot armour but overall it was a good ride. Its better than early Stargate but not as good as mid era SG1 so it rides that B tier scifi line.

Bad Sisters S2
With how S1 wrapped up I felt it should be stand alone but I was wrong, it was another good dark comedy. I dont see it getting another season but like I said, I was wrong about that before and would watch another happily!

Dexter: Original Sin
3 eps in and its wayyyy better than I thought it would be. Its not amazing and the ramp up leaves a lot to be desired. For example his first kill is flawless, not a single thing went wrong and it was all set up like older Dexter would with 100% professionality and then Harry's reaction is to cry a little then go "hey, maybe you should murder more murderers eh?". The main guy does a good Dexter face and Deb does a good Deb pottymouth. Not loving it but not hating it enough to not watch.

Yeah, enjoying this so far as well. Re the first kill, I would say they were maybe in the position of not wanting to retcon what had already been in the original run (memory is a little hazy, but we definitely saw original Dexter kill that nurse, who was then played by TNG's Tasha Yar iirc). His definitely effs up his third kill here.

Just finished watching first season of Silo, off the back of recommendations in here.

It’s good I like it, not as much as others did maybe. I just can’t find myself caring about any of the characters. And Sims’ likeness to Andrew Tate is irritating me.

Nevertheless, the finale was excellent, and I’m definitely intrigued enough to start on the second season.

Yeah there is an unfortunate likeness between Common and Andrew Tate which I also noticed

Watched the first episode of American Primeval on Netflix. White settlers moving into the US frontier in the 1850's and all the brutality that followed. There's a particularly awesome scene of utter chaos made to look like a single continuous shot. Good do far so will keep watching.
It being a Netflix show I've no doubt it's cancelation will be announced within days.

That’s weird I came here this second to express my shock that it’s COMMON?! Maybe I ought to have known that. Nevertheless I hope he dons a wig or something in season 2.

Finished watching a TV adaptation of Vanity Fair with the wife, from 2018.

Very well done, with top-quality actors and costumes. One of the better period-drama shows I've seen of late.

Also, finished watching Terminator Zero last week. Not a fan of anime in general, but I am a fan of the Terminator franchise (at least pre-21st century instalments) and was willing to embrace the medium to see how they handled it. I was quite impressed. I felt like this show was more inline with the original Terminator concept, before it was ruined by crap sequels, and did a great job with story, animation, as well as presenting some interesting philosophical ideas of human nature and time-travel in a compelling way.

Silo is excellent. I’m genuinely invested in the finale.

Finished season 2 of Silo. That was great, shame it'll be another year or so before the next one.

Severance S2 started. I really enjoyed the first one, but remember very little of what happened. S2 just starts and I'm a bit lost already.

Just started Season 2 of Silo myself, great stuff.
Haven't started Season 2 of Severance yet, like you I've only a tenuous memory of Season 1. This might help us both -

Silo finale was great.

AppleTV is knocking ten shades of shit out of other platforms currently.

I've been watching Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light with the wife.

Excellent period drama about Thomas Cromwell, Lord Privy Seal of King Henry VIII, and the sequel to Wolf Hall. Fantastic costumes, acting and script. A lot of it is just Mark Rylance's brooding face, but it's one of the most polished Tudor-era dramas out there.

Totally agree, best thing the BBC has done for quite a while.

Yeah, it's way above their usual standards.
