Between the two of you, Mumbling Manny is shot to hell, his bullet-riddled corpse tumbles back into the corner.

Not sure where Cumflutter was when all of this went down...maybe he passed out in the bar?

Doc, you're welcome to make a 2d20 wits test to find out how he died.

He has, on him, a diary, but though you attempt to read it (using a match or lighter, no doubt, since it's pretty dark in here), he does not seem to be able to complete a single coherent thought, so you learn little about the man.

However, what you do learn, scrawled on the inside cover of the diary, is the final piece of the safe code:

If I've remembered correctly, the codes then are 06, 04 and 30.

When everyone's ready, I suggest we go back to the safe and try them methodically in different orders (I don't think there are too many possible combinations?).

It's +2, so thanks to your extensive and entirely legitimate medical training, you conclude he died from food poisoning, in all likelihood from that pot of chilli sitting on the dying fire.

13 and 17 on the 2d20 for the mixture. Assuming that's enough, 7 on the d8.
