I think it was just there were a few questions that came up in the not-too-distant past so I just clicked on the answer without reading the other responses.

That sideburns question is a load of bollocks btw.

It comes from soldiers who used flintlock muskets that over time the ejecting powder would burn the side of their face. So they grew them to offer a bit of extra protection and to cover any existing burns and/or scars. Nothing to do with that arse Burnside as far as I'm concerned, who was a pishy general and is only remembered because he was a nice old fellow.

I know that one, oh and that one, and that one...

Think I guessed two or threein all, all of which I knew some of the answers that were incorrect so not military grade guess-fu, but yeah was pleased with the clean sweep.

About time, been playing like a right duffer so far this month!
