They removed the constitution from the WH website, and all Spanish language pages too. They reversed the lower drug prices from the Biden admin, and stopped all the infrastructure act measures also. Pathetic, weak and vindictive, all for the service of greed and avoidance of accountability. The DEI shit is the most laughable, all in the name of their ignorance as they install the dumbest, incapable and derelict people into jobs DEI people worked twice as hard to get to.

I think the DEI changes refer to ending the hiring practices rather than their removing anyone hired by them. I mean they'll probably do that too, and there won't be any government employees that aren't straight, cis-gendered white males by the end of the year, but for the moment they're holding off on going full Nazi.

Someone on Reddit pointed out earlier that an X is just a Swastika without serifs, and I can't get it out of my head now. Reddit actually made the front page of the BBC with an ongoing effort by hundreds of communities to ban any and all links to X, and I really hope that this is the moment that companies start to do likewise. I think it's time to take the hit and lose some of their reach, which has been the excuse up until now. Let the site deflate into the squalid little far-right cesspool that Elon wants it to be.

Well, clearly that's not true. You don't get to achieve what he has achieved if you're a moron.

I will concede that he's probably more intelligent than the other man in the Oval Office.

Ok, ok, I'll concede that "moron" was far too short of a hand to really get across my opinion of the man, it was late and I'd had a trying day and maybe a low-effort barb wasn't the best response. I absolutely do not think he is anywhere near as intelligent as his supporters do - I feel American society, perhaps Western society in general views success as being closely linked to intelligence, but it's obviously far more nuanced than that and the latter does not begat the former.

To me, possessing that much wealth makes philanthropy an absolute no-brainer, that if you could end much of the suffering that everyday people go through by spending your money, you should do that. I don't mean just handing out money to people, but funding programmes that assist the needy, or research into ways to do that. Musk once asked for a plan to end world hunger and he'd fund it, and I think the UN did just that. His response was that it wouldn't work, but I don't recall ever seeing him making any effort to fix whatever problems he saw with that plan to make it work. Instead he donated the money he'd pledged to end hunger to his own foundation as a tax write-off. It was 2% of his net worth at the time, an amount that he'd probably earn back within a few months by doing absolutely nothing, and he decided just not to bother.

And then there's some of his actions over the last few years that, if you're assuming he's a decent or 'normal' human being appear idiotic. Stuff like buying Twitter and then immediately firing the majority of its staff because he thinks he can code it better himself. Obviously we know now that his plan was not to make a successful business more successful, but instead buy access to millions of people's social media to promote his awful ideology.

Basically he has the wealth and power to fix *so* many of the world's problems, and he's instead concentrating on being powerful and wealthy. Perhaps he thinks fascism is the right style of government to achieve a better world, but I just can't see any motive other than an end goal of having all of the wealth and all of the power. He is everything I detest about the ultra-wealthy.

In my opinion he's making the wrong choice every time. To me, he is a moron.
