He'd posted that he was in Romania on Christmas Day - he'd need to swipe his passport to get into the country, so they'd know one way or the other he was there. One way or the other, his own stupidity (ie. returning there) is what's gotten him arrested.

Nevertheless, a few newspapers are now saying he's been charged and Romanian authorities are requesting an additional 30 days detention.

She actually did quite a bit of research regarding his recent social media posts and made a thread to highlight that, and it makes sense that the most recent one would have given a lead, with easily investigated order history to give an idea as to his (and his brother's) exact whereabouts in a reliable timeframe. So it isn't as conveniently preposterous as it seems.
