Re: Good TV (aka, the TV series spamthread), the second series

I started watching a show on Netflix called Timeless -- a story about a government-run time-travel experiment, and a conspiracy to radically altar American history. Wouldn't have chosen it myself, but my wife was keen and now I'm actually really enjoying it.

Re: Tabletop Games

If you're looking for a really good "choose your own adventure as a board game", I highly recommend Tales of the Arabian Nights by Z-Man games. You choose a character from the Arabian Nights, such as Aladdin, Sindbad etc. and travel around the world (as imagined by Islamic scholars from the Golden A...

Re: Currently Playing

I bought all three SoR games at the same time, and I've played all three. The sequel is amazing in terms of graphics, and I love the wrestler character, but I love the first one more I think because you can call in a police car with an RPG for backup!

Re: Currently Playing

Well, well. In recent weeks I thought I'd gone off video-gaming for good. I took no joy in playing anything, and even when I had the money to buy some games which were hovering at the edge of my interest sphere, like Unavowed and Thimbleweed Park , I just couldn't bring myself to do it. But then I d...

Looking forward to Knightfall Season 2, especially since it has Mark Hamill as the Templar Grand Master. https://imagesvc.meredithcorp.io/v3/mm/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fewedit.files.wordpress.com%2F2018%2F09%2Fl-r_-tom-cullen-as-landry-and-mark-hamill-as-talus-in-season-2-of-historys-_knightfall-_-ph...

Re: I Just Watched (Films)

Aladdin Not great. Aladdin's singing voice is awful for a start and Big Willy isnt any better. It looks like a lot of money was spent on it by folk that weren't great designers so everything just looks cheap. Its not offensively bad or anything and its better than Dumbo.... maybe. Controversially, ...

Astrologaster A little oddity that popped up on Steam the other day. Looked intriguing and wasn't expensive so thought what the heck. And glad I did! I can't really think of another game quite like it. Basically you play a real-life Elizabethan doctor, Simon Forman, who helped cure the bubonic plag...

Re: Aaand, In Other News...

I was born in York a year before the Minister Fire -- I remember my parents talking about it a bit when I was a lad. It was a pretty big deal at the time.

That said, I think I prefer mid-to-late Immortal to Abbath's solo work. :-k

Well, except for the fact that it's only the roof that was damaged, and it's going to be restored.

I didn't realise Sky had exclusive rights to stream it in the UK. I somehow imagined it would be available on Amazon Prime.

Viking Destiny A strange, low-budget film about a Viking princess who claims the throne of a fictional Norse kingdom called Völsung. Despite some questionable acting, strangely choreographed fights and a fairly shallow plot, it has some spectacular visuals. I'm not going to recommend it to anyone, ...
