I'd have waited before buying a new card personally. Nvidia are releasing the next generation of 11x0 cards within the next month or so and that always causes prices to drop for the older models.

I've not seen anything that about them releasing it in the next month - where did you hear that? I've only seen speculation.

I think it might have just been rumours that I was reading too. Not entirely sure because it was a few weeks ago and most sites usually tend to fluff up just how much they know to be true.

The new pc was running a bit hot so I bought it some new fans. Sticking with the silly lighting scheme I tried to go full retro futuristic and put these purple fans in.

Not surprised, I don't think there's anything in or on a pc you can't get with rgb now. Only thing I've got with rgb is the new gpu but my case doesn't have a side window so it's switched off.
My case fans are blue led that look worryingly like swastikas...

I've just said no to a new work laptop that was higher spec than the one I had asked for because it was too ugly. ¬_¬

I kind of wish I'd gone for a more retro vibe with my lighting setup now. My tower is a great big white thing with black grates and neon blue lights around all the fans on the front, back and sides; it looks quite snazzy in the dark but I think it's a bit too much Star Trek when what I really would prefer is for it to look like an 80s nightclub.

I too recently bought and built a PC!

i7 8700K (Coffee Lake), Aorus RGB mobo, 16GB RAM, Strix RGB 1070, NZXT self-contained water cooler, all packaged up in that there popular white NZXT case. All LEDs set to white.
