No, I had a day out in York and popped into Whittard's.

Every single event I've been to has been absolutely fantastic, starting with Fellowship of the Ring back in 2009. The film itself was preceded by an hour long talk with Howard Shore covering the creation of the music and how some of the themes came about. The highlights were the epic drum they built to get the deep sound of Moria and the way they created the industrial crashing sound of Isengard - wrap a huge chain around your arm, open a grand piano, and BANG. BANG BANG BANG. BANG.
Previous fantastic events have included Star Trek, Into Darkness, Jurassic Park, Gladiator, Casino Royale, and Interstellar.
Whilst not always the most amazing films (though I like them all) the soundtracks are fantastic. The Battle and The Might of Rome from Gladiator sent shivers down my spine.
Interstellar was definitely my favourite, for one reason - they did an hour-long talk beforehand again, introduced by Stephen Hawking and with Brian Cox, Chris Nolan, Hans Zimmer, and Kip Thorne discussing the music and science behind the film. Absolutely amazing to experience, regardless of what you might think of the film overall.
Off to see Skyfall in Concert this evening and have just booked for Fellowship of the Ring next October. Woo! Yay! etc.

That’ll be the exception that proves the rule then eh?

Hermes, the courier service.
You always hear negative stories about couriers, but Hermes have NEVER failed me. Also, their website is so well organised, and there conveniently happens to be a drop-off point half-way between my work and my house. Brilliant.

It obviously differs depending on the person delivering. There aren't any particularly bad couriers 'round my way, Hermes included.

I've used a few different ones over the last few years, but Hermes are the only one I feel 100% confident in, due to them being the only service that have delivered a package from A to B quickly without any hiccups or unexpected twists.

I'm always happy to be told I've got a parcel coming through DPD. They give you a delivery estimate window, they tell you what number you are on the driver's run sheet, and tell you what number they're currently on. Really transparent, and they're really good at hitting their estimates. Great stuff!

Good shout, actually. That new shower I ordered last week was delivered by DPD and they were exceptionally good in the communications department, as well as having a friendly driver.

Going to an empty (or near empty) cinema
Decent liquorice or ice cream
When a pretty girl smiles at you
Looking at a woman's curvy legs and bum
Being snug and warm in bed when it's pissing outside
Watching lightening
Playing with my son
Getting an Amazon delivery
Talking to my mum
Steak
Reading a good book or an article in a magazine
Having a massive dump (while reading a good book)
Getting ridden on by the wife
Decent hot chocolate or coffee
Saturday morning in bed
Films that surprise you by being really good
Games that surprise you by being really good
The summer
Meeting an old friend
BBC 4
Spotify

My computer
Reminiscing about the past

GOOGLE DRAWINGS.
Discovered it today because I was looking for an alternative to Microsoft Visio in order to produce a topology diagram to explain a software/hardware system at my work to my boss.
What a lovely, lovely piece of software. It's so nice it actually makes me feel happy to use.

Weekends where you have no plans or obligations whatsoever. There are few things more enjoyable to me than waking up on a Saturday morning with a blank slate as to what I'm going to do.
