Four weeks of hype now until the crushing disappointment of the prices and availability.
I really want to be pleasantly surprised, my current card is going for £400 on eBay atm and I'd be interested in a 3070 if it had a decent upgrade in performance.

Indeed. Honestly I'd probably be perfectly happy with a current gen card; I was looking at a 2070 Super level card, I'm not too fussy on what generation it comes from.

I'm still rocking a 1070 and perfectly happy with its performance @1440p. I still get over 100fps in R6: Siege, and around 80-90 in CoD, depending on settings, and those are my most-played games at the minute.

Be interesting to see what the new line of cards offer though, given what the next-gen consoles have shown off using AMD kit, I hope nvidia have something awesome up their sleeves!

Still sitting on my 980 Ti here. For 1080p gaming it smashes most things out of the park.

I'm really hoping that AMD are able to cause them enough of a stir that NVidia drop some of their outrageous prices over the next few years. The current Ti range costs almost as much as I spent building my entire PC.

970 here and only thinking of upgrading because of VR really, I’m fine with the performance it gives me (80-90 in siege) but the higher rez vr at 90 is beyond it.

The 3060 is supposed to be better than the 2080 and be priced around $300 But I’ll believe it when I see it.

Yeah, I'm wanting rid of my Fury X because it's both old and AMD don't have the best reputation when it comes to VR performance. It's not performing terribly, but it's definitely stretched thin in brand new games which chug a bit, and I think the time has come to future proof my machine again.

Cuda be expensive, rumours have the 3080 at around $1,500.

The rumours, it turns out, were wrong. 3080, the new flagship, is $699, 3070 (which has the same performance as the 2080TI) is $499.

Although why they're calling the 3080 the flagship when there's a 3090 I'm not sure.

Also, at the end of the stream the presenter went a bit odd. Apparently nvidia is our holodeck. His words.

If the board partner prices are close to the mrp looks like I'll be looking for a 3070 come October.

Yeah, I realised after writing that that it was probably just a typo, but as I was writing it the chap was suggesting that the 3080 was the flagship (which I assumed to mean top-end) card.

I'm not sure which card I'll pick yet. VRAM is a big factor for the game I play the most on PC, and it's what holds back my current card so much, so I'd be tempted to go for the 3080 for that reason. Price will likely be the determining factor, $699 will undoubtedly be £699 or more, which is a hell of a lot of cash for a PC part, but it's not like £499 is particularly reasonable either.

Edit: Eurogamer are saying that the UK price for the 3080 will be £650 and 3070 £470, but I don't know whether that's just a guess based on currency conversion.

It says 649 on there, which is alright! The 3070 isn't that much cheaper, which is odd, but hey ho. The 3090 is clearly the madlad tier, being a Titan replacement, so us normal users can ignore that.

It's nice that card prices have corrected a bit even though it must sting if you picked up a 2080TI.

Eurogamer have apparently had a 3080 for a week, and we're looking at a 70-80% performance increase versus the 2080 according to their tests.
