Twitter locks President Trump's account
Twitter has just announced President Donald Trump's account will be locked for the next 12 hours due to his tweets about the election earlier today.

"As a result of the unprecedented and ongoing violent situation in Washington, DC, we have required the removal of three @realDonaldTrump Tweets that were posted earlier today for repeated and severe violations of our Civic Integrity policy," the social platform said.

If Trump does not remove the three tweets in violation, the account will remain locked.

Twitter also warned that future violations of integrity or threat policies "will result in permanent suspension of the @realDonaldTrump account".

Four people are dead, and now lawmakers are considering invoking the 25th Amendment, which would allow them to remove a president from his position if he is deemed not to be doing his job. Supposedly Pence has already been performing some of Trump's duties during this crisis, so I think this is actually a possible outcome.

Either way, Donald Trump incited an attack on the seat of American democracy because he won't admit defeat. That's his legacy.

Because I hate myself I listened to a bit of Fox News. The more newsy folk are covering it with some sanity, the talking heads are not. Ingram was blaming it on BLM setting a pressident and that the violence was Antifa because some of the rioters had ropes and “ropes are an antifa tactic”.

So all he did in the end was turn most Republican senators against him and ensure he'll never run again. I really really hope he's booted out before he's given the chance to pardon himself for this. Also hope this is remembered by people doing business with Trump in the future, by rights this should completely ruin him. But none of that is going happen.

Yeah, the man deserves to be made an example of, not just allowed to leave office quietly. There was direct incitement of an angry mob by the President of the United States to overturn a democratic election. It's so preposterous that four years ago it would be considered an historic event, but for Donald Trump it was Wednesday. That should not be allowed to stand, as it represents a direct challenge to the very foundation of the country he represents. My only hope is that sitting Republican lawmakers now will want to distance themselves from the man, as it doesn't affect their ability to govern given that the opposition has just been voted in. As such they may be more inclined to take action against him.

I had to listen to the Hamilton score on my way to work this morning to remind myself that this shit isn't normal.
