Spoiler
Sooooo yeah. It left me legit depressed for a while I'm on my second playthrough now though, and I'm making damn sure I take my time. I've only just got out from the prologue and I'm already rocking my charged-jump and mantis blades, which are incredibly overpowered and immense fun to use.Re: Cyberpunk 2077 [PC, PS4, XBone] - out September 17 2020

And, yeah, loved using my mantis blades throughout my run, I went with the double jump as opposed to the charge jump though.

On my maleV toon, who is just at lvl 7 at the moment, I've got the double jump and the trainer going so I can infinite jump, on up to the top of the highest buildings. It's just a breathtaking game environment.
If Edwin's being an Edwin does he call himself an Edwin?

The story his eyes tell is wildly different to the narrative, but totally expected and no less hilarious

Interesting piece, which I didn't pick up on at all in my playthrough - but contains spoilers so only read if you've completed the game at least once already:

Intriguing. I've done the side mission in question and did wonder who the mysterious call at the end was from. I wonder if this is similar to Gaunter O'Dimm in Witcher 3, where a curious but seemingly throwaway encounter becomes something much more in a DLC.

Much of CD Projekt’s focus, according to several people who worked on Cyberpunk 2077, was on impressing the outside world. A slice of gameplay was showcased at E3, the industry’s main trade event, in 2018
Fans and journalists were wowed by Cyberpunk 2077’s ambition and scale. What they didn’t know was that the demo was almost entirely fake. CD Projekt hadn’t yet finalized and coded the underlying gameplay systems.
The overtime didn’t make development of the game any faster. At E3 in June 2019, CD Projekt announced that the game would come out on April 16, 2020. Fans were elated, but internally, some members of the team could only scratch their heads, wondering how they could possibly finish the game by then. One person said they thought the date was a joke. Based on the team’s progress, they expected the game to be ready in 2022. Developers created memes about the game getting delayed, making bets on when it would happen.
Some engineers realized that Cyberpunk was too complex of a game to run well on the seven-year-old consoles, with its city full of bustling crowds and hulking buildings. They said management dismissed their concerns, however, citing their success in pulling off The Witcher 3.

This is brutal.
No commentary, just clips of pre-release hype & hilariously buggy gameplay/missing features.

The gulf between the PC version and the old-gen console version is gargantuan. With few exceptions, my experience on PC has lived up to the promises and hype, but how they thought they’d get away with the trash fire on consoles is beyond me.
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 [PC, PS4, XBone] - out September 17 2020
It shouldn't have been a thing in anyone's mind that this game should be developed for last-gen consoles. It's ridiculous on the face of it.

I finished the main storyline last night and have done a lot but not all of the side quests - total play time is around 110 hours.
I've really enjoyed it for the most part; the world is sublime, lots of the characters are good (though I wouldn't say great; none of the storylines came close to some of the best of Witcher 3) and I very much enjoy moving around the world. It really is epic. I've not encountered anything particularly game breaking - a few quests that get stuck if you do something out of order, and a few holes in the map (one of which is on top of Delamain HQ which was really annoying as I was following the quest to find a way inside!). I think my biggest grumble in what has otherwise been a very fun game is the random spawning of people around you - particularly the police who are completely rubbish and nothing like what was promised.
Overall I've really enjoyed it though.

How come we don't have a photography thread for this game?
