I put off buying it for ages, then eventually it was reduced to a very reasonable price on GOG, so I took the plunge. Then I never actually got around to playing it. Then I tried it once, a few weeks back, and thought it seemed quite dull. As I woke up super-early this morning I thought I'd give it another shot. I don't know what happened as I'm pretty sure I was playing from the beginning last time, but this time the first mission was different. Anyway, I quite enjoyed it.
You play a police detective and you take on specialist cases of an occult nature, but it's all very tongue-in-cheek and fairly light. It took me about fifteen minutes max to complete the first case. I don't know if I'd recommend it or not; it's too lightweight to rank among the classics of the genre. The graphics are okay in that faux-retro way. The puzzles are dead-simple. The humour is a bit crude, and to be honest I prefer these sorts of games to have a more serious tone. However, for worn out "ex-gamers" like me it's in some ways quite nice to complete a simple puzzle game in fifteen minutes, without feeling like you're embarking on an epic quest which threatens to consume your life for days or weeks on end...
