The Covid-19 Thread
Re: The Covid-19 Thread
Here in Florida I was able to finally get my J&J vaccine, no line, no waiting, since having these redneck anti-science imbeciles that infest Northwest Florida here - Matt Gaetz territory, y'all - means lots of surplus vials, and bored pharmacy techs. Back in Northern California I couldn't find a J&J shot, and the other two-step vaccinations were all being scheduled a month in advance.
Anyway, it's done, almost no repercussions at all except a sore deltoid for a couple days, and that's most likely from the inexperienced young fellow that gave me the injection. Needles don't bother me a bit, so no worries about any of it. I'm quite happy to be vaccinated and I'll do it again at the drop of a hat, if needed.

Re: The Covid-19 Thread
Been pretty much ok after my first jab. Arm still sore and I generally have very little appetite, not sure if that's a side effect.
Re: The Covid-19 Thread
I didn't have any ill effects after my second jab, I'd been pretty unwell after the first.
Re: The Covid-19 Thread
Everything delayed by a month, though presumably cases are still going to keep sky rocketing because it seems that letting everyone sit inside venues without masks on is quite a handy conduit for the virus to spread even with the social distancing between tables.
If only it hadn't taken them almost three weeks to do something about flights in from India when there was footage of bodies being burned in the streets over there.

Re: The Covid-19 Thread
I've seen plenty of speculation that it was because they were at the height of trying to negotiate a potential trade deal with India and didn't want to irritate them.
But to be honest I think it's just total incompetence and being slow to react to everything.

Surely nobody would call Boris Piccaninny Letterbox Watermelon-smile Johnson racist. Perish the thought.Raid wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 7:25 pmSince when has accusing this government of something done them any harm?Animalmother wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 6:54 pmWas that some bizarre fear of accused of being racist you think or just sheer stupidity?

Fuckity bye.
You know what, I'm annoyed. He should be resigning for gross incompetence and corruption, not because he's adulterous. Leaving in this manner allows everything else the crooked little arsehole did to just be swept under the rug.

Well at least he had the decency to kiss his arse goodbye AFTER kissing his aide.

You know what, I'm not convinced this isn't just a smokescreen to dodge accountability for his incompetent dealings alá covid. Seems far too convenient that he wasn't aware of a camera whilst he had his Alan Partridge snog, and the body language of both...

Plus how did the sun get their hands on camera footage in a government building.

Re: The Covid-19 Thread
Vaccination number 2 today. Looking forward to another series of panic attacks and a dead arm.
It will be interesting to see if I have any of the other symptoms I had after the first, or whether they were unrelated. As well as the arm pain that lingered for several weeks, I had a spaced-out, low blood pressure feeling that came and went over the same period. Nothing terrible, but a weird reaction nonetheless.
