Aww man. I don't think I've ever seen anything that Betty White was in other than when she was playing herself, but she'd become an example of how everyone wants to be when they get anywhere near her age.

Building the future, and keeping the past alive - are one and the same thing.

Quoted. Absolutely brilliant actor and, in fact, person. I suspect without him there would not be so many great black actors as he blazed the trail.Solitaire wrote: βFri Jan 07, 2022 11:50 pmLost a giant of a man.Hatredsheart wrote: βFri Jan 07, 2022 3:36 pmhttps://news.sky.com/story/sidney-poiti ... s-12511094

Saw him live back in the 80's before his weight loss and his live performance was less than stellar, his studio performances were legendary though. RIP.

Aw that's a shame. I was never a fan of Mr Loaf but he was a talent regardless.
I did see him play once, at Reading in '88, but that was at the height of the festival bottle wars. He came onstage and was a bit full of himself, and after being hit with a few bottles of piss he stormed offstage then came back and foolishly threatened the crowd not to throw anything else at the stage. This prompted an absolute tornado of piss-bottles, one of which broke his nose, and he stormed off never to return.

Let's not forget that he was the one person on the planet who could make Gary Busey seem like a calm and reasonable person:

Given that no cause of death has been listed, you have to assume watching that video that it was a heart attack detectable by seismometers in New Zealand. I know nothing about Meatloaf (other than Bat out of Hell), but I just can't imagine anyone getting that angry, even if asked by a terrible American reality show to ham it up a bit. Was "spray paint" code for masses of cocaine?
