General Film News
Re: General Film News
The first two thirds of that film is a complete clusterfuck. ¬_¬
Re: General Film News
I loved ROGUE 1 (Spelling guys seriously now).
I can't think of any complaints with it other than Forrest Whittaker was underused.

Oh it has its faults alright, many of them. But that last 40 minutes or so makes up for it. I want more Star Wars films like that with a darker tone to them.
Re: General Film News
I liked Rogue One, far more than the utterly forgettable TFA.

Re: General Film News
That new Happyland Murders films is getting absolutely trashed in the reviews. Sounds awful.

Re: General Film News
Never heard of it before, but I would make that assumption from the title alone.
Wait, do you mean The Happytime Murders?
Wait, do you mean The Happytime Murders?
Le vieux monde se meurt, le nouveau monde tarde à apparaître et dans ce clair-obscur surgissent les monstres.

Argh those little fucking cars and the cretinous wee figures with the inane grin on their faces. I feel your pain. have just twigged that 'Happyland' is the brand of toys my kids were obsessed with when they were little and came to eventually fill most of our house. I would actually pay good money to watch a 'Happyland Murders' film, I think...

I'll start you off with completely unlikable characters and the grand difficulty presented by caring about characters that you know won't survive the film.

Re: General Film News
That's kind of a personal opinion rather than something inherently "wrong" with the film Tich
For my money I liked the characters a lot more for that reason of them probably not surviving.

Re: General Film News
There's a lot to be said for tragic heroes. There's probably a million examples, but off the top of my head something like Predator, or Inglorious Basterds, where most of the cast is killed off throughout the film.
Fwiw I really liked Rogue One.

Re: General Film News
I didn't hate Rogue 1, and it's not a bad film to burn a couple of hours on.
But when I watch it, there's no emotional connection to anyone involved.
The only reason it stands at all for me is it's essential to ANH and the original trilogy while being almost entirely forgettable.
You could easily strip it down to an hour long TV special and not lose anything of note at all.
What's worse is I've just realised I remember more of the three prequels than I do of Rogue 1 which just goes to show hate is more powerful than apathy (Something something Darkside, we have cookies).
1. You left out Optimus Prime, for shame
2. Most is the key word there imo. Dutch, Hicks and Ripley, Private Ryan. Better characters because they survived against those odds.
Kill of everyone and it loses something, although Game of Thrones has it's murder pace set just about right

It's a good point, but two things.
