Directx12 seems to be the biggest performance culprit, temporary fix posted to Steam...
UPD: Do this to fix micro-freezing -> Open config file:
%localappdata%\Local\CallistoProtocol\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini

Add this above [/script/windowstargetplatform.windowstargetsettings]:

[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.CreateShadersOnLoad=1

Also try switching to DX11!

Game is good, just wait for a patch that will fix DX12 shader-caching issue. Right now shaders cache in real time which causes microfreezing.

Besides that, game looks beautiful, combat is gory and environment is stunning.
Sadly there's not DLSS, but FSR does the job pretty well too.
The inclusion of Denuvo may be another issue?

I still fancy having a go once it's fixed up a bit. I had hoped it'd resonate better than it appears to be doing, as I love these kinds of games, but I never really thought it would better Dead Space - nor does it have to, I guess.

Seems there's some frustrations with checkpoints here and there, combat movement feeling a bit clunky, and a mini-boss that can't hit you if you hold dodge...

Glad I didn't buy into it day one, but then I rarely do.

Edit:

Bit of a different take and one that also highlights the current PC issues.

It's UE4 which has had issues with stuttering on PC in multiple titles.

Aye, was reading about that and it seems to be a pretty widely known issue with shader compilation, apparently.
