And that's the story of why I'm not allowed near pregnant women for the next few weeks.

Found out this morning that Victor Lewis-Smith died a few days ago. Remember watching his shows in my teenage years, and reading his TV critic column in the Evening Standard, always hilarious. One of the most influential modern satirist/humourists, having a big influence on people like Chris Morris and Charlie Brooker.

Even if you've never heard the name, I'm sure you're aware of at least one piece of his work - he's the one responsible for the urban myth that the Captain Pugwash characters had filthy names (Seaman Staines, Master Bates, Roger the Cabinboy etc). He was actually sued by the creator but speak to anyone today and they'll still believe it

Just heard this today, and absolutely gutted. Absolutely loved The Specials they were a big part of the soundtrack to my 1970's and their music is still absolutely relevant today.

RIP Terry

Terry is a painful loss, part of an amazing time in GB music history, and forged a massive part in my emerging consciousness, especially around understanding the inanity of race hate which I remember being non-plussed by as a young unaware teen. Sleep free sir.
