Currently Listening
Re: Currently Listening
Had the new Katatonia album Sky Void of Stars delivered by the postie today, and the initial listen is very positive indeed, probably their strongest offering since The Fall of Hearts.
Going to see them live in London next month, which should be a good one, first Katatonia then Gojira all in February, bring it on!

This isn't a thread I tend to peruse but wanted to pop in to say that's really good!ManBearSquid wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 6:31 pmMucked around with a bit of acoustic recording after work and came up with this incredibly happy sounding little piece:
It's been years since I uploaded to Soundcloud, but I thought that I'd share this.

Re: Currently Listening
Thanks Snowy and Sly, much appreciated.
I may flesh it out at some point as I have some acoustic ideas that I'd quite like to work on at some point.
I also have Katatonia and Gojira next month in Glasgow. I haven't listened to Katatonia for years, but I'm going with my brother and I reckon it'll be a good show as I enjoyed them when I saw them years ago.

My wife is a huge fan of them, so we always tend to go and see them when they tour. They always deliver too.

Gojira next month for me too. I'm really looking forward to see Alien Weaponry supporting them.Snowy wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 10:41 amHad the new Katatonia album Sky Void of Stars delivered by the postie today, and the initial listen is very positive indeed, probably their strongest offering since The Fall of Hearts.

Feels like this gig has been coming round for a long time, I think I bought the ticket in 2020.
Re: Currently Listening
Yeah same, was initially rescheduled for 2022 when Covid hit, then bumped out to 2023 not long after because reasons I assume.

They were meant to be playing O2 Ritz Manchester this very coming Saturday, but it now says something about it being rescheduled? Would really love to see them live as I've been a fan of them myself for a while.

Puddle of Mudd takes me back about 20 years lol. Me and the wife actually went to one of their gigs in London back when their first album came out, it was good!

Been listening to a load of Band-Maid recently. That last album, The Unseen World is fucking great!
Just listen to the drums on Black Hole! They can all play like fuck but that wee lass is incredible! (should start around 4.25)

Re: Currently Listening
So my mate made me a guitar for no other reason than he wanted to. It's awesome!
I cobbled together a demo with various sounds used throughout:
