The way the trailer is cut makes it look like Hollywood trash unfortunately. But it's from the people behind Band of Brothers and The Pacific so I've no doubt it will be great.

I am getting bored of Americans winning WW2. Can we get another perspective please.

Netflix's Three Body Problem adaptation is looking pretty good.

I know next to nothing about the book. I keep seeing it recommended in "what sci-fi should I read" discussions, but those posts are usually accompanied by people saying they just didn't understand it, or that it lost something in translation from the original chinese, so I've never picked it up.

I tried reading it but didn’t get far, partly because I couldn’t keep track of all the Chinese names and therefore who was who. It’s a terrible excuse, but for some of the names I couldn’t even form a consistent internal pronunciation (doubtless completely wrong anyway). I’m hoping that hearing the names out loud in the TV series and being able to put a name to a face will help, because it is supposedly a masterful sci-fi story.

Judging by the trailer they’ll be called Steve, Bob and John so you should be good ;)

That looks great. Is it possible we might actually get another great video game adaptation along with The Last of Us? It's almost like having knowledge of the source material is good!

Here we go then; The Boys Season 4, June 13th. As with every trailer for The Boys, it might be worth avoiding if you want to go in fresh as there's tons of probably brilliant surprises in there, but then they usually fill the season with so many of the things that it must be difficult choosing which bits end up in the trailer.

Not at all sure about this if I'm honest, got a horrible feeling it's going to be a Poundland Dune tale riding on the success of the films.

The second and confirmed final season of Arcane is coming in November.

It's a shame that a show of this level of quality is only getting two seasons, but then I'd much rather it went out on a high than see dwindling production values and tedious extensions to their original story (which they claim to have planned in advance).

Has anyone been watching Scavenger Reign on Netflix? It's a transfer after flopping on HBO Max and hands down one of the better Sci Fi animations I've seen in a very long time. Stylistically it reminds me of Moebius and some of the way out there alien artwork of the 70's. Well worth a watch.

Yes, and I'm really enjoying it (I think I'm on episode 8). It's like Studio Ghibli hired John Carpenter as a consultant and made a sci-fi survival series. The creativity is on display immediately, but you do need to wait two or three episodes to warm to what's going on I think. Despite the frequently pleasant appearance of some of the wildlife (everything has big, expressive eyes), there's some proper horror scenes that are quite unsettling. I don't know how it ends yet, but I can't imagine I won't want a second season.

Edit: I was up to episode 7. I am now up to episode 8. Jesus christ.
