I am thinking perhaps the second of these skills requires you to sprinkle yourself with coyote urine, hence why you have a jar of it upon your person!Animalmother wrote: ↑Thu May 15, 2025 4:15 pmSounds goodStormbringer wrote: ↑Thu May 15, 2025 4:01 pmFor the first one, let's say, if you're hiding (from beasts or men), you can stay undetected on a roll of Luck on 2d20.
For the second, let's say if you're confronted by a beast, test Luck on 2d20 and the beast will ignore you/leave you alone if you succeed.
For the third, let's say if your target is mounted, you hit them on a successful 2d20 Slick roll.

My fire is more than can be made with forests,
My state more base than are the basest valleys;
I wish no evenings more to see, each evening;
Shamed, I hate myself in sight of mountains,
And stop mine ears, lest I grow mad with music.

I bet Artham "Crusty Scrotum" Scotum is eying that bottle of coyote urine with envy, dreaming of the medicines he could make from it...

I have a feeling that one of the first things Crusty is going to do is teach the Cadaver Kid how to be a better grave robber

Here's a suggestion:
Brought a sword to a gunfight = if you attack gun-toting enemies with a melee weapon, you test Grit with 2d20 when hitting.
Lost the cell keys = if you try to pick a lock (with lockpicks or some other suitable tool) you can do so with 2d20, testing Slick
Missed the train = when you leap onto a moving vehicle you test Slick with 2d20.
Whaddya think?

Re: (TTRPG) Frontier Scum
Sounds good, but for the first one could it be to test Grit when being hit, or something similar? I’m thinking the outcome of me bringing a sword to a gunfight wasn’t that I triumphed with derring-do, it was that I survived being riddled with several of my 14 bullet holes.

Re: (TTRPG) Frontier Scum
Yeah, that sounds good.
You test Grit on 2d20 to avoid taking damage if you're hit by bullets.

My fire is more than can be made with forests,
My state more base than are the basest valleys;
I wish no evenings more to see, each evening;
Shamed, I hate myself in sight of mountains,
And stop mine ears, lest I grow mad with music.

With my paltry 2s, I'll buy some cigs and some matches (stashed in my belt for quick-draw smoking).
