No, Aces are all gone when someone rolls a 1!
This is a fatal blast!
Cadaver Kid's face is blown off!

Welp, that was a good start.
Not sure what I could have actually done about most of that. Bit miffed if I'm honest.

A stick of dynamite would definitely not have survived an initial explosion of another stick of dynamite such that it only lit the fuse.

That did seem harsh (my suggestion was only a joke) lol

You could have used your hat to deflect all the damage! I am happy to "rewind" and allow you to do that!

Yes, but given half my reward had blown up out my control and then I’d been blown up for going to investigate, I wasn’t especially inclined to give up anything else!Stormbringer wrote:You could have used your hat to deflect all the damage! I am happy to "rewind" and allow you to do that!
It does feel a bit like the old King’s Quest adventures where you’d walk down the left path instead of the right and the game would be like, oh no, you’ve been mauled by a family of bears, lol!

Hoping that WB will roll a new character, can we recover Kid's expensive new weaponry, which we could later bestow upon any potential newcomers?

Well, to be fair, everything that just happened in this sequence is completely in alignment with the game's tone: brutal miserable death and suffering, the loss of limb, hope, fortune and life, all in the blink of an eye, and it's meant to be darkly humorous.
FS has a fair amount of levels of safety that keep PCs alive longer than they deserve: death checks instead of instant death at 0HP, Aces that can be used to re-roll (so long as you don't roll a 1) and hats that can be used as all-encompassing damage shields, etc. But sometimes you just roll bad and that's meant to be part of the fun, then you can roll up a new and interesting character who isn't much better than the old one. It might take some getting used to if you're used to the likes of D&D, I suppose!
In any case, remember your hats, folks: they can save your life. But, a new character is just a button-click or two away on the generator!
And speaking of that...
I hope he will too! And yes, CK's gear is up for plundering.

We should definitely keep a memorial of the fallen as we go, so far we have Parcheval (brained by a clown) and Cadaver Kid (dynamite related friendly fire incident)...

I’m going to be away this weekend and probably won’t be able to do regular updates, so I’ll sit it out until Monday.

All right! Should we continue the adventure and have a new character join mid-way, or should we all wait until Monday?
