Gotta say, I personally would prefer to keep any Reddit-like crap off here. Any kind of "like" or score system would be too trendy for me. ¬_¬

I've been on a couple of forums that use this sort of system, and it doesn't really behave like Reddit as the 'upvotes' don't actually do anything to raise or lower a post's visibility. It's just a quick way of agreeing with someone without having to make a post yourself. You could argue that it would be better for the agreeing person to post as it's more activity, but in reality people don't bother.

Indeed, it just saves a lot of the 'This' or 'I agree' type posts. And just a nice way to show someone you appreciate their post without the need to post something yourself saying that.

This is my view. I suspect people will quickly come to see a "thumbs up" as a suitable alternative to an actual response. ¬_¬

Low population forums it's probably a bit redundant really, but if/when the place does get busy in the future it could become a handy additional feature to gauge level of agreement on certain things. After all, a lot of the time one person makes a counter argument and there's no other way for a lot of other people to agree, other than posting "I agree". So it does have a purpose in debates.

Something to perhaps 'whip out' in the future if the place really does take off.

It would be pretty easy to implement, but I would only add the option to thumbs up/like something as I find that adding in negative reactions never provides anything beneficial at all.

I'll keep it in mind if we ever get a boost in numbers.

Is there any way to get the avatars back to the left hand side. I find my brain needs to see who's written something before I start to read it. Being on the right I tend to read it first then see who wrote it. Is it a theme thing?

Yup, Mantis is going to look into it, but he's out and about at the minute so it might take a few days by the sound of it.
