I do have a tendency to randomly pick things up and put them in weird places. I lose my coffee cup, my keys, my wallet and my phone on a daily basis, and they usually turn up in some odd part of the house, but it's usually one of six 'usual suspects' locations. Putting my trousers in this particular spot was a whole new level of WTF.

100% this. I went to London recently and the buggers were stood like bollards and the end of escalators on the tube.

You spend hours on your latest project. You've put a lot of effort in, you've learned some new techniques and you're proud of what you've achieved. You'll share it on social media, let other people see what you've managed! You take a photo, but THERE SIMPLY ISN'T TIME TO CHECK IT'S IN FOCUS.

And so you post a photo of your paint-stained hand, holding a blurry mass of pixels that nobody else can discern.

I feel like this is the most "old man yells at cloud" post I've made for a while, but I just don't get it. I don't expect everyone to put in the same time and money I do, my model photography setup is absurdly over the top for what I produce at the moment, but christ, could you not have taken the five seconds to check and maybe re-take the photo if needed given it doesn't even show the thing you're trying to show? Are people so confident in the capabilities of modern cameras that taking entire moments to check they've worked would be a colossal waste of your short time on Earth? Do they perhaps not want to give away their precious painting secrets, and you deem that the vibes of your post will be sufficient?

Oh yeah, out-of-focus photos in general. It's an intolerable sight.

I’ve been looking into buying and refurbing an old, broken PC recently and the quality of photos people take of their machines on eBay is staggeringly bad. Not just out of focus, but the things they choose to photograph and the things they choose to omit. Want a full view of the components and what they may be (since no details are listed)? Tough, you’re getting eight snaps of the case exterior from different angles, at a distance of 10cm.
