CY_BORG: VIP Abduction
Re: CY_BORG: VIP Abduction
And how does melee combat work in this game? Is there any tactical advantage I could gain by rushing them into melee, like stopping them from shooting? Or am I just going to get shot point blank in the face.

Re: CY_BORG: VIP Abduction
For you, from a probability point of view, it wouldn't make sense.
Because of your character setup, you only need to roll 8+ to hit with a gun that does d8 damage. To hit with your claws, it's +12 to hit, and only d6 damage. You're also right now using the brick door-frame as cover, which is excellent cover. To lose that would be folly, if I may say.
Which reminds me...that time you fired twice and I said you missed the first? Turns out you didn't!
I'll let you fire twice again this round as compensation; only need for one roll though: d20+2 (8+ to hit).

Re: CY_BORG: VIP Abduction
Lovely stuff.
Zola probably wouldn't really have the tactical considerations in mind when it comes to playing the numbers. Having said that, he's also not especially brave, so he'll opt to take two more shots with the revolver.
2+2 and a 6+2!
Now those are more like my usual DnD rolls.
(Ed: I misread your comment slightly. Can we take the 6? -_-)

Re: CY_BORG: VIP Abduction
It was only one roll, as you already hit the last time and I didn't see it, but I'll take that 6+2 and call it a hit.
So, roll 2d8 for damage!

Re: CY_BORG: VIP Abduction
I have it that you have one Glitch left. Do you want to use it to re-roll that 1, or turn it into Max Damage (8)?

Aw shucks. Let's go for double 8s and use the glitch to convert it to max damage.

Cool. You take out a Viper with two shots! Only one left!
Let's see what Doze does...

I think you mean PEW PEW PEW!
Anyway, assuming Boris is going to go laser-blasting once again, it's a d20+3 for you, Doze!

That's a hit!
So, it's a d12-d2 for damage, followed by another d20+3 for the next laser-blast.

d20 is 12+3 = 15
Gonna assume that hits, damage is 7-1 = 6

Re: CY_BORG: VIP Abduction
That's the last Viper dead!
A summary of this round:
- Volley leaps off the warehouse roof and flies to the ground.
- Sen is badly hit with a round of buckshot as he leans around the door-frame to fire his AR.
- Sen deals a light wound with AR fire
- Zola leans through the door, fires his revolver twice, and kills a Viper outright
- Doze pilots Boris further around the room and kills the last Viper with a barrage of laser fire.
Now the warehouse is a chaotic scene of splintered crates and four smoking corpses.
It's time to see how much ammo was spent:
Sen: roll a d6
Zola: roll a d8
