My turn. 8-)

1. From Russia With Love
2. Casino Royale
3. Dr No
4. The Spy Who Loved Me
5. Licence To Kill

Controversial opinions:
1. You Only Live Twice is a fucking awful film. Terribly directed, atrociously acted, sloppy & tiresome. Only Die Another Day is worse IMO.
2. For Your Eyes Only is just outside my top 5 or 6, my 2nd favourite with Moore. It's a snappy, understated, dark Bond film and too often overlooked.
3. The rot was already starting to set in for Connery in Goldfinger. He was already "doing his Bond" in that film and lost the more serious, gritty performances from his 1st two.

Now that’s some proper opinioning!

I do kind of get what you’re saying about Goldfnger, but the less serious nature is why I love it. Dr No and From Russia with Love are great films, but the mild irreverence of Goldfinger is where it lands for me.

The Spy Who Loved Me, interesting choice. Always found that (and Octopussy) to be the weakest Moore films.

Just because they remind me of my childhood, not because of any real preference, so pretty interchangeable:

1 The spy who loved me
2 You only live twice
3 The man with the golden gun
4 Goldfinger
5 Diamonds are forever

Lotus submarine. Nothing more needed.

I'd honestly be surprised if all of us here didn't have that particular toy car in the bath at some point.

This may ruffle some feathers, but here it is anyway...

And I mean this in a more consecutive manner, he only did two films but absolutely nailed it in both.

Craig was monumentally great in Casino of course, but I don't feel the same Bond we were given in that movie properly carried over to the rest of his stint losing what made him so compelling with each new release, you could almost sense Craig checking out piece by piece beyond Casino - again Casino was quite frankly just on a level all its own and shall forever be remembered as such.

Dalton to me just feels much more like he fully encompasses Flemings' true vision of Bond up there on the big screen.

I think he was a great Bond with a very different tone and interpretation to the others, somewhat angry and disturbed. I like both his films.

Dalton was my favourite Bond until I rewatched both films a couple of years ago. I do like Dalton in the role, he's a bit more believable, still charming without the smarm of Moore, but The Living Daylights wasn't as good as I remembered, and License to Kill doesn't feel much like a Bond film (though it's the better of the two films).

Licence To Kill is the only pre-Craig Bond film I saw in the cinema so it holds a special place for me. The guy bursting in the pressure tank was quite shocking at the time.

I think it helps that Dalton is such a likeable person in general.
