Yup, currently leading WB 44 points to nil for the week... it'll definitely change as there are lots more games, but 44 points off two players is a very strong start.

Some interesting scores already. Mrs MM is killing it!

Mrs Boots' points will go up a fair bit once the subs go through for those that didn't play, though. Will be closer than I thought!

Mrs Boots is fast becoming that club cult hero style player.

I hope she wins :)

So it would seem.

Also never believe them when they say they're 'working'.

Indeed she did not. She very much in the 'it's not a lie if you believe it yourself' camp. However as in all healthy relationships I shall hold it over her every chance I get. :D

Right, well the scores are in, and for now we'll ignore the fact I'd forgotten to check the box in the settings that automatically substitutes out players who didn't play.

Ahem

That blip aside, the score for the first round looked like:

SmellYerMawson 157.5
Ma Boots' Watford All-Stars 102.8
Smokin' Mojo Filters 121.2 Ratter's Raiders 194.85
Ball Fondlers FC 108.2 Wrathbone's Wrasslers 134.55

The winners highlighted.

Animal, if you're reading this then I really suggest losing a few of those defenders and bringing in some midfielders and/or attackers bud.

In any case, the next round of match-ups sees:

Sly (that's me!) taking on WB
MM putting the beat-down on a bunch of no-hopers from a part of North London that doesn't think it's part of London but totally is.
And Mrs MM taking on the tournament's own safety-first, 11 men behind the ball Animal.

Good luck!

Interesting developments in week 2!

Wrathbone wins our bout by a whopping 183 points to my measly, meagre 176 (seriously, how close was that?!)

MM meanwhile wipes the floor with Mrs Boots 214 points to 0. So, yeah, my wife asked me to sort her out some subs and it seems that I accidentally let her field 12 players, the system rebelled and awarded her zero

If you don't tell her I won't.

There was a gnat's whisker between Animal and Mrs MM - they scored 155.55 vs 156.05... just half a point separating winner from loser! :o

The table now has WB and Mrs MM out in front with two wins from two, then me and MM with 1 win 1 defeat. And Animal and Mrs Boots bringing up the rear on 0 wins, after her calamitous decision to field an illegal team.

Ahem.

Yasss! Hard lines Mrs Boots.

It reminds me of the time that Estonia didn't turn up for a game against Scotland and we celebrated anyway. :D

One team in Tallinn!

With that score you'd have won by a landslide anyway.

At least that's what I'll tell her*.

Gah! Even though I know I corrected Mrs Boots' lineup this time so it was eligible, the system in its wisdom seems to have added a 12th player into her lineup again and given her a 0 points week. I'm questioning whether it was even my fault the first time round, or whether her 'all-Watford' selection process is simply too innovative and causing it to glitch.

Meaning Animal earns his first victory of the season.

Interesting results elsewhere, meanwhile, mean that Mrs MM and Wrathbone are defeated for the first time, putting them, myself and MM all level on 2 wins from 3.
