Lol, I love that Fechr gets armour, a choice of weaponry and a trained attack dog... while I get an empty sack, a (presumably thoroughly gnawed) leg-bone and a mound of lard

It's amazing what you can find picking off and definitely not also consuming the soldiers that just can't march any further.

Don't worry, you'll get a chance to buy some more stuff with that silver before the game begins!

Let's just wait a while longer to see if Animalmother and Snowy produce some new scvm!

OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER...

Potentially room for one more? I told myself not to get sucked in, but I generated a character who has a horse that is smarter than him and how can I say no to that?

I think my favourite part though is the tendency to whistle while hiding and then deny it

I look forward to being accidentally slain by your foppish sword

Marvellous!

You can play 'classless', but that's kinda boring, so, to start with, you pick a class.

The most elegant solution, rather than having to roll up your character manually, is to use this tool here, called Scvmbirther:

https://scvmbirther.makedatanotlore.dev/

This instantly generates a PC for you, complete with stats and starting gear. There will be an opportunity to buy/sell things before the adventure starts, but this saves you some effort. If you don't like what comes up, just click the button at the top to kill the PC and birth a new one.

There's a button in the bottom-right hand corner 'Enable MBC Content' which unlocks additional classes and features. I recommend turning this on for some more variety.

I've found a handy fillable character sheet too (unless anyone's found a better one):

I'm glad you listened to the voice of reason!

Pleased we have a Wretched Royal in the group to take charge of all these freaks!

Name: Malaiz*

Dependent and Suspicious. Gut telling tales of too many ales. Obsessively collects small sharp stones.

Esoteric Hermit
Initiate of the Invisible College

Once per day you may summon D2 scrolls, whose power can be used only once. Roll a d4, on a 1–2 the scrolls are sacred, on a 3–4, unclean. If the scrolls are not used before sunrise they turn to ash.

Great!

So far we have:

  • A lazy, one-eyed, addict nobleman in denial about a whistling disorder, with a talking horse and a talking sword.
  • A worried, deceitful, staring, giggling alien from another world who can summon food out of thin air.
  • An aggressive, giggling deserter soldier with a savage dog and a magic horseshoe.
  • An amnesiac, suspicious, sharp-stone collecting, pot-bellied wizard who can summon magical scrolls out of thin air.

Who will Snowy be?!

I'm imagining our group, silently skulking through the undergrowth towards a camp of unaware bandits, punctuated only by frequent bouts of insane giggling the odd whistle, and the occasional scathing witticism from the talking horse before one of the bandits is decapitated by a horseshoe.

So basically I'm an annoying, fat bastard with a probable obsessive compulsion disorder?
