To strike the snake with your knife, test GRIT!

Or, you can just leave it alone...
My fire is more than can be made with forests,
My state more base than are the basest valleys;
I wish no evenings more to see, each evening;
Shamed, I hate myself in sight of mountains,
And stop mine ears, lest I grow mad with music.

Can I get the heads without bothering the snake?

Nah, you're gonna have to deal with that snake if you want the heads!

I stab at the snake.

GRIT: 7 - 1 = 6

I'll use an ace to roll again: 13 - 1 = 12

That's sufficient! You stab it right through the head and it dies.

You've succeeded in all the challenges of this adventure.

Now you can roleplay the hell out of your exit back to Palace.

I turn to face Scrancher and tip my hat.

“Sorry ‘bout that. If you ain’t a Loudmouth, a clown, a crocodile, a coyote, a corrupt sheriff or a dagnammit snake then you’re the only dang thing not to befoul this evening and I’m pleased to make yer acquaintance. What brings you out this way?”

Doc will lead the others in stacking the bodies of the sheriff and deputies into the bathroom of the main house. That done he'll light a smoke, and flick the lit butt into the bath full of moonshine, and he beats a hasty retreat back outside.

I guess we should probably introduce ourselves properly to the newcomer :lol:

"Why, Bluth Femur's the name, most folks call me Scrancher though. A most unfortunate business brings me all this way out to this rather squalid locale. You fellas seem like fine upstanding people, this unpleasantness with the sheriff not withstanding. I'm sure you'd be eager to set right the most unethical and upsetting of wrongs if you'll hear out the tale of my woe. Y'see, it was only a number of weeks ago that I was swindled out of an not unsubstantial amount of coin by a scoundrel named Roach and his chicken. You fellas wouldn't be familiar with them would you?"

Doc casts an eye back at the now merrily burning building. "Could be he accompanied us to this godforsaken locale, but sad to say he won't be accompanying us back to Palace again."

"Ah, what a pity. Whilst the scoundrel deserved to meet a most sour of ends, I would like to have looked him square in the eyes and settled our score before putting a bullet between his eyes myself."

"And what do I call you fine gentlemen?"
